Test Results

This guidance applies to tests requested by Archway Surgery staff. Results from hospital clinics are managed differently; please see the section below for more specific information.

When are results ready?

Blood tests are usually returned within seven days. Imaging results, like X-rays or scans, typically take up to two weeks to arrive from the date of your procedure.

How to contact us

Please call reception between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm when phone lines are quieter. The assessing doctor will have recorded a comment on your result, which the receptionist will share with you directly.

Accessing results

To protect patient confidentiality, staff will only provide information to the patient directly. Please do not request results for family or friends; they must call personally. If you have any specific concerns about your clinical findings, you may request a follow-up consultation with a doctor at a suitable time.

Important notice

Tests or investigations requested by clinicians in a hospital setting

We frequently receive inquiries regarding tests requested by hospital clinicians rather than our GPs, or queries about 'abnormal' flags in the MyCare app. Please do not contact our reception for these results.

Instead, contact the hospital switchboard and request the secretary for the relevant department, and ask them to arrange for the results to be provideddirectly to you. Hospital doctors are responsible for managing and explaining the results of their own test.
