If you're waiting for a hospital appointment, operation, scan or another test in hospital, please contact the hospital directly.
The surgery does not have special access to the hospital's waiting list data and can't predict when your procedure will occur.
We generally receive notification only after your appointment or scan has been completed by the hospital.

Will a GP letter help?
Evidence suggests that requesting a GP letter to expedite an appointment rarely affects waiting times, regardless of advice from hospital administrative staff.
Hospitals must prioritise clinical urgency fairly, and advancing one patient often delays another.
Please do not request an expedition letter unless your clinical condition has significantly deteriorated. If your symptoms have significantly worsened, please provide a written description of these changes so we can include this detailed information in a formal clinical update to your consultant.
